about
Here’s a brand new song - an election night lullaby. It’s NOT a political or protest song, in the usual sense of the word. It’s an attempt to describe a sense of despair at how things have developed. How the land that has been the source of so much inspiration to me throughout my life has become, sadly, almost beyond the reach of any politician.
For the moment, this is a one-off. I’m working with a sense of hope towards a new album next year, and this may or may not be part of that collection. I'm offering it free, but please make a payment if you like. As always, I hope you like it - and feel free to download and share with anyone you think would enjoy it.

How can you bring it together,
now that the wheel has come to rest at last?
Now on every pillow,
the dream has turned to broken glass.
Go out and talk to your people.
The long roads of the great Midwest.
When you leave, the deafness
settles over all the rest.
We’ll be staying up all night,
waiting for that early light to show:
Where do you go from here?
Where do you go from here?
Oh say, can you see-
