This is the sound of an old upright piano in the day room at the The Brook assisted living dementia facility in Coleraine, where my father was a resident for a few years. That afternoon he was on one of the sofas, and I was aimlessly playing improvised pieces to amuse him one afternoon. I loved the sound of the piano, and I was absently recording it on my phone, thinking I could use it somewhere. Near the start, you can hear Dad actually singing along a bit. And at the end, if you listen carefully, I ask him: 'd'you like it?', and he randomly says... 'D'ye wanna go to the pictures?' I overdubbed a little guitar part afterwards. I should have left it as it was, I think.
